Pet-Friendly Pavlova Recipe: A Festive Treat Just for Your Dog!
Ingredients:
For the "Meringue" base
- 3 large egg whites (make sure there's no risk of salmonella)
- 1tsp apple cider vinegar
- 1/3cup tablespoon dog honey, you can reduce the amount to lower the sweetness
- 2 tbsp gelatin
For the topping
- Freeze-dried Kōrue boysenberry
Method:
- In a clean dry bowl, whisk the egg whites and apple vinegar until they become frothy. Add the honey and gelatin, if desired. Continue whisking until the mixture forms soft peaks.
- On a parchment-lined baking sheet, spoon the egg white mixture to create individual "meringue" bases. These won't bake and harden like traditional meringues; they'll stay soft.
- Place the baking sheet in the fridge and let it stay overnight to let the base sit.
- Use the kitchen torch to caramelise the Meringue
- Then you can assemble the "pavlovas." by adding some freeze-dried boysenberry
Notes:
Serve the dog-friendly "pavlovas" as a special treat for your dog. Remember that these treats should be given in moderation and should be part of a balanced diet.
Always ensure that any ingredients you use are safe for your specific dog, and consider any dietary restrictions or allergies they may have. Consult your veterinarian if you have any concerns about your dog's diet or if you're introducing new treats. Your dog's health and safety are of the utmost importance.
